Miracles

January 9, 2017

Hello Family and Loves Ones,
How was your week? Hope all is well and we are keeping up those new year resolutions and becoming better people everyday. Well we got a text last night and today our MLC meeting starts because tomorrow our
MLC will be ran by President Whiting of the Area 70. So exciting so I don't have lots of time so straight into the week. But one fun exciting thing, today I did mochitsuki. It's hitting special sticky rice with a hammer and it turns into sticky candy stuff they eat for New Years. Yes, New Years is like a week long celebration here. But it
was so fun!! So Tuesday we went to visit a LA with the Elders since they are both new and don't know a lot yet and the elders were late meeting us so we saw this cute 15 year old girl and decided to talk to her. Her name is
Riona. At first she was kind of creeped out and startled that we randomly talked to her but as we got to know her and talked about our church and stuff she really opened up. She was so cute and she thought it was so cool we pray and we can feel gods love through it. As the elders showed up and we are getting ready to leave she looks at us and just has this smile and special glow to her and she said "you guys are nice and special, I don't want to leave." Haha we were like what? Ha so we got her number and we will meet her again hopefully this week.
Thursday we had exchanges which was awesome. We had a emergency transfer in our zone and now one of the sister areas has 3 there so we exchanged with them. I went with the new one who just got here and it was a blast and so spirit filled. She had been having a hard time with emergency transferring. So we had some time to talk during dinner and I was able to use an email my amazing brother Landon sent me a while back (THANK YOU) and she just had this huge light come and we went and worked and met lots of awesome people and saw lots of great work come. So Wednesday we had a lesson with Kyoko but before her we went to lunch with a member and she dropped us off at the church and asked to come to the lesson so she came and the lesson didn't go as good as we hoped, Kyoko also said she can't get baptized so that hurt and we just didn't know what to do. But we have another part that relates to this which was a miracle. So we get a call from the member who referred Kyoko San to us on Friday and she said can you meet now and so went and met her. She was way worried about Kyoko because the day before we had that lesson Kyoko had talked about joining the church but then she heard she said she wouldn't be baptized. So we talked a lot about her and were able to figure it out and she is going to talk to her so we can figure out how this will work. But it brought so much peace to me because I love Kyoko San so much and just want her to be happy. So then Sunday we had a lesson with her at the return missionaries Minamimoto Couples house. It was AMAZING! They shared such strong testimonies and we taught the Plan of Salvation. She loved how we get perfect bodies and will meet our families again because right now her husband is sick and she said I want to meet him again in his normal state. It was such a spirit filled moment. So she's doing great. Friday I had my last interview with President Welch. It was so weird but such a spiritual moment. It was such a great time filled with so much love, advice, and the spirit. I love that man so much, he has changed my life and it's been a HUGE blessing to work with him here. Okay the last most amazing miracle of all. So a while ago I talked about an American who came to our ward and his non member wife. Well they haven't come since and we have been praying hard to see a miracle and  have them come. Well we fasted for it as well and Sunday we are both feeling bummed because everyone who was supposed to come, didn't. But I look back after a song and guess who walked in? THOSE TWO! And during testimony meeting he got up and bore his testimony in Japanese. It was so amazing. So went and talked to him after and wow he looked so different and seemed happier. So we got talking to him with the new Elders and he told us of his experience he had this past two weeks of receiving a testimony for sure that god is there and Christ lives and he will never ever go back to not attending church. And he wants his wife to learn and all this amazing stuff. We are over joyed and can't wait to work with them. I know God loves us and hears our prayers even if it doesn't take time. Last a short quote of the week. "As we reflect on the value of resolving to do better, let us determine to discipline ourselves to carefully select the resolutions we make, to consider the purpose for making them, and finally, to make commitments for keeping them and not letting any obstacle stop us. Let us remind ourselves at the beginning of each day that we can keep a resolution just for that day. As we do this it gets easier and easier until it becomes a habit.” -President
Nielsen I loved this because let's all be honest, we make goals and after a few weeks they die. But everyday if we just re make that goal then it will little by little become a habit. And I loved relating that to the atonement. We can start fresh daily with our goals because of the Savior. The Savior is the best and loves us so much that we can
work daily and change. I know through his power and help that all new goals can be accomplished. Love you and miss you all! Have a great week.
